Libe Green Innovation participated in the AFRI-Plastic Challenge strand named Accelerating growth challenge that seeks small and medium-sized enterprises that have a proof of concept and ability to scale nationally or regionally to reach a high target number of people, particularly engaging women and girls. We emerged to be among the top 30 semi-finalists and supported to scale out our impact.
Libe Green Innovation is among the Alumni selected for WE4A with access to grant funding with three months of technical support to help them flourish and contribute to the creation of employment in their communities and enable them to integrate into local regional and international value chains while increasing chances of raising follow-on funding from private sector investors.
Libe Green Innovation was awarded capital and twelve weeks of business management training, access to experienced mentors and membership in the African largest entrepreneurial ecosystem.
In 2021 our founder Liberatha Kawamala was named among top 100 African youth in conservation. This was the first-ever Top 100 young African conservation leaders list, a collaboration between the Africa Alliance of YMCAs, World Organization of the Scout Movement, African Wildlife Foundation, and WWF to empower the efforts of young, talented Africans and inspire other youth in leading the way to ensure nature and people will thrive for generations to come.
The award was presented to Libe Green Innovation in Dar as Salaam Tanzania on July 28, 2022, as the recognition of outstanding impacts made in Environment Management and Circular economy. The Pan-African Women Economic Summit is a platform that aims to recognize, appreciate and celebrate youth, men and women who are: Change agents, Trendsetters, and Impactful in business women and leadership efforts both in the Private and Public sector space to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic by sharing their different experiences, perspectives and skills, and ensuring that decisions, policies and laws, are responsive to the needs of all, and the advancement of gender equality and women empowerment.
The Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals or Global Goals are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a “blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all”. The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by 2030. We are working tirelessly to make sure we alleviate poverty, promote gender equality, create more decent jobs and opportunities, Innovate better waste management systems for sustainable cities and communities and conserve both terrestrial and aquatic life through climate actions.
